El Gran Fellove, the voice behind songs like El Jamaiquino and Mango Mangue, recently passed away in a Mexico hospital.
Fellove, who was born Francisco Fellove Valdés, is credited with founding the Cuban jazz movement known as filin, and is sure to be remembered for his great stage presence and the Spanish-language scat that he was known for.
The musician will be featured in a documentary produced by US actor Matt Dillon, which focuses on Afro-Caribbean music.
