Body Weather provides strategies for exploring the interconnections of body and environment. It regards the body as something intermingled with its environment and continually changing, like the weather.
Arts Mildura presents an exciting 10-day artist residency by performers Frank Van de Ven (Amsterdam) and Peter Fraser (Melbourne)
This residency, by two widely experienced ‘Body Weather’ performers and teachers, will offer a range of opportunities for anyone who wishes to explore embodied experience or fold it into their arts practice. Included in the program will be a Body Weather workshop, an artist forum, and the performance of a new work developed during Mildura Dust-Off followed by an audience Q&A.
Award winning cinematographer and contemporary artist Vanessa White will accompany Peter and Frank, documenting their response to site during the 10-day Mildura Dust-Off residency, creating a new video work which will premier later in the year. A selection of Vanessa’s films will be presented daily during the Dust-Off residency.
Vanessa will also be holding a very special workshop ‘How to create a captivating video.’ This workshop will be an introduction to capturing and editing video with smart devices, developing workshopper’s skills through a condensed tutorial, discussion and hands-on experience with an award winning cinematographer.
