Woods Street Youth Art Prize 2020 virtual exhibition

Celebrate Youth Week (15 November - 15 December) and join us for an innovative, virtual exhibition, presented by Laverton’s Woods Street Arts Space and beamed straight to your lounge room!

The Woods Street Youth Art Prize showcases the artistic talent and innovation of young people aged 14 to 25 from Melbourne’s western region. In 2020, exhibiting artists responded to the theme ‘A New Power – Finding a Voice’ with a diverse and creative selection of works.

Presented in a cutting-edge virtual exhibition space, this year’s Woods Street Youth Art Prize will take the exhibition experience online. With artists talks, curated tours and more, there is plenty of creativity and innovation to get you inspired.

On Thursday 26 November at 7pm, join us for a virtual awards ceremony presented by the Hobsons Bay Young Citizen of the Year, Augustin Kadende, the livestreamed event will celebrate the achievements of all shortlisted artists in this year’s exhibition and prize winner will be announced. Don’t forget to vote for your favourite artwork!

On Saturday 22 & Saturday 28 November, join emerging curator Georgia Steele and Ellise Roberts from Mesh Mash Design in Laverton as they teach printmaking transfer techniques for paper and fabric, beaming to you direct from Georgias home studio!
