HOME is where the art is.
Six artists from a refugee or asylum seeker background explore the meaning of home in this thought provoking national art exhibition curated by the City of Greater Dandenong. HOME is a raw and compelling art exhibition, providing an insight into the personal journeys of the artists.
The artists are Dr Dacchi Dang, Elham Eshraghian, Humaira Fayazi, Mastaneh Azarnia, Mirela Cufurovic, and Saidin Salkic. HOME explores the concept of home through the eyes of artists who have deeply understand what it means to flee your home. HOME is an opportunity for artists to, as Elham Eshraghian writes, “unveil their story that should never be silenced”. It also offers artists the opportunity to create work to “externalise and process those feelings” as Mastaneh Azarnia says.
HOME 2020 will be a virtual exhibition. The exhibition's public programs and special events will also be presented online, including Q&A sessions.
