Voices of Women at Articulate Project Space:
a film called CLEARWAY (Corona)
an exhibition by Rox De Luca 'still gleaning for plastic, on the beach'.
CLEARWAY (Corona): Immerse yourself in short monologues, plastic sculpture and art music for two screenings only shot on location at the former mechanics workshop that is Articulate Project Space on the Parramatta Road.
Revel in short, punchy monologues and the moving and at times humorous world of Australian women’s stories. The joy and bewilderment of motherhood, the loneliness of drought, the journeys of strong First Nations women, surviving domestic violence, the bonds of friendship, the pain of betrayal, bus rides of the imagination, and avoiding the cracks in the pavement… not to mention the ever present Corona. Interwoven with the stories, be inspired by contemporary art music and found plastic sculptures.
The film is written by women all over Australia who took part in the annual writing competition for short monologues and pieces in the first person.
Powerful actors Julia Christensen, Claudette Clarke and Bellatrix Scott, Guest Artist First Nations woman Kirli Saunders and award-winning poet Anne Casey bring new Australian stories to life, with music written for the project by Elizabeth Jigalin, set against a backdrop of sculptural forms by Rox De Luca that draw attention to the serious global issue of plastic waste. The filmmaker and editor is the highly attuned performance photographer and videographer Clare Hawley with lighting design by Sophie Parker. It is directed by Lliane Clarke.
CLEARWAY (Corona) is live streamed on Vimeo for two screenings only. Purchase a ticket and you will be sent a link.
