Creative Spaces is seeking expressions of interest from arts and creative organisations for a sublease opportunity at Guild, 152 Sturt Street Southbank.

A diverse collection of arts spaces in the heart of Melbourne’s arts precinct.

In 2016, and in partnership with Creative Victoria, Creative Spaces transformed over 1000m2 of vacant retail space into a diverse collection of arts spaces in the heart of Melbourne’s arts precinct. Demonstrating how space can be repurposed to meet demand for smaller arts spaces in a neighbourhood defined by major arts venues, Guild offers smaller tenancies suited to arts organisations and creative practitioners.

An opportunity exists to take up a sub-lease at Studio 2 on the site. Studio 2 at Guild is one of six tenancies within a ground floor strip of a residential tower.  The studios are accessed via a shared walkway between Sturt Street and Moore Street and share common toilets, kitchen and meeting room with the other studios on site.

The No.1 tram stops directly outside Guild

Currently Guild comprises:

  • Assembly Point exhibition space
  • National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA)
  • Café Godot
  • University of Melbourne, Faculty of Arts
  • Theatre Network Australia
  • Australian Performing Arts Market (APAM)

Studio 2: sublease only until 19 September 2026

This rectangular space of 139.7 m/2 has accessible single entry only at the front of the space. Heating and cooling are provided and the garage style, glass façade door opens completely to ‘remove’ the wall facing the walkway. The space is industrial in its design with its exposed grey concrete walls, floating floor and ceiling mounted air conditioning ducts. There are two separate office spaces at the rear of the studio.
