We are seeking entries that reflect the theme of ‘Seeing the Soul: The Human-Animal Connection’ – depicting a spiritual, symbolic or actual connection between people and animals. The animals in entries must be at liberty, without restraints of any kind.

We welcome works in any mediumpainting, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, photography, digital, 3D and sculpture.

Prizes to be awarded are: Major Prize of $2,500, Runner-Up Prize of $1500, Highly Commended Prize of $1500, People’s Choice Prize of $500 and the Under 18 Emerging Artist Prize of $500.

The Seeing the Soul Art Prize & Exhibition will be held at Cooroy Butter Factory Arts Centre, Sunshine Coast, Queensland from Friday 12 April to Sunday 12 May 2024. Artworks will be for sale through the Seeing The Soul website.

The annual visual art prize and exhibition supports and promotes Hoofbeats Sanctuary, a mental health charity at Doonan on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, that supports women and girls impacted by trauma and raises awareness of mental health. Our mission is to improve mental health through evidence-based, trauma-focused, animal-assisted and nature-guided programs.

Conditions of entry are available on the exhibition website: seeingthesoul.org.au. Entries can be submitted online until midnight on Friday 8 March 2024.
