MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT – 33 days of paid professional placement.
This role will be a deep dive into the fast-paced environment of producing an arts festival and will encompass all aspects of marketing, communications, and public relations. The successful participant will have a passion for the arts, events, and festivals, and will be joining a small team of dynamic people to connect people, art, and place.
The successful participant will need to be super organised, creative, flexible, and reliable. SWELL Sculpture Festival is a fast-paced environment where multiple tasks may need to be worked on at any given time.
Tasks may include, but are not limited to, assisting with artist interviews, editing website, creating social media content, managing photo and video library, attending and coordinating photoshoots and filming, assisting PR agency with enquiries, creating media releases, creating and co-ordinating signage, working with partners and sponsors on meeting mutual branding commitments, etc.
The successful participant must be highly skilled with written and verbal communication skills and high-level working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, Dropbox, Adobe platforms such as Illustrator, a great understanding of social media platforms, and experience with database management.
Events experience a bonus but are not essential.
Key duties of the role include:
· Attending and coordinating photoshoots and filming.
· Assisting with artist interviews.
· Assisting PR agency with enquiries, creating media releases, creating and co-ordinating signage, working with partners and sponsors on meeting mutual branding commitments, etc.
· Editing website, creating social media content, managing photo, and video library.

There are 10 amazing creative opportunities available, with a diverse set of incredible host organisations.
You can apply for more than one placement, however, if you are successful only one placement will be offered.
Successful applicants will be paid a stipend by the host organisation to support their participation in the Program.
