What We Want

We want insightful and passionate investigations into the theme, commentary on its here and now, as well as speculation about where it might go. We want innovation in form, and sophistication of craft. We want the stories not being told, the voices we’re not hearing, and the ideas that need patience, care and work to introduce to the world. We also want thrilling adventures and invention, soulful dilemmas, settings that transport us, and unique characters. For these reasons, there are no genre specifications. Wide interpretations of the theme are welcome, as we are particularly keen to reflect the rich diversity of life, the human race and our imaginations; however, the primary criteria for selection will be:

  • Engaging stories of literary merit and originality, offering interesting / intelligent explorations of the theme (not mere mentions of it, or tagging a theme word onto an already-written work).
  • Adherence to the Submission Guidelines.
