Expressions of Interest from artisans, artists, designers, poets, florists, and other creatives are invited to undertake the following 2 (two) commissions (3 seats in each commission).

Commission 1

The public seating to be subject of installations is located in Majors Bay Road, Concord, Union Square in Rhodes, and Tennyson Road, Mortlake, close to the business precinct in these suburbs.

Commission 2

The public seating to be subject of installations is located in Formosa Street Space – Drummoyne, Fred Kelly Place – Five Dock, Concord Road- North Strathfield, close to the business precinct in these suburbs.

The Vision

The commissioned artisans will utilise an existing public bench as a canvas for an installation.

The project should resonate with the local community and visitors, creating a fun photo opportunity and celebrate an object that only lasts a short amount of time.

The proposed installations should challenge the status quo and shift perceptions of what should be expected in a place.

Creatives can seek key directions of the city in the following City of Canada Bay ‘s strategic documents which can be accessed from Council’s website at; City of Canada Bay Public Art Plan and FuturesPlan20.

Those submitting an Expression of Interest are encouraged to explore the themes of the connection, hope colour and nature.
