The Fisher’s Ghost Art Award is Campbelltown Art Centre’s annual art prize inviting artists to submit works in a variety of artistic categories and mediums. Now in its 60th year, there is $72,000 in prize money to be won

The Open Award is acquisitive to the Campbelltown City Council collection and in 2022, in celebration of the 60th Anniversary; the award is valued at $60,000

Up to two artworks can be entered in the different categories with exhibition finalists selected by a panel and judged by three industry professionals who will collectively choose the winners for each category and award. All Primary and Secondary students may enter one artwork and will be automatic finalists for exhibition.

The Fisher’s Ghost Art Award coincides with Campbelltown’s annual Festival of Fisher’s Ghost. Held over 4 days, the Festival dates back to 1956 and celebrates Australia’s most famous ghost – Frederick Fisher.

In the past the Open Award has been awarded to some of Australia’s most respected contemporary artists including Elisabeth Cummings, Khaled Sabsabi, Justene Williams, David Bromley, Marion Borgelt, Raquel Ormella, Philip Wolfhagen, Tina Havelock Stevens, Kuba Dorabialski and most recently, Robert Fielding.

All finalists’ works will be available for purchase.
