Entries are open for two ATOM student competitions in the creative media areas of Journalism and Film:

Entry is free and open to all primary and secondary school students in Australia and New Zealand. Finalists work will be published on the competition websites and also featured on social media.

Prizes include Apple iPads, digital cameras or creative design software.


An initiative of Nine and Australian Teachers of Media (ATOM), Front Page provides Australian schools and classes with the opportunity to create and submit a short school newspaper, and win fantastic prizes in the process.

Australian classes are invited to to produce a school newspaper, reflecting their ideas of what a newspaper of the future could look like.

Form a team of journalists, writers, editors, graphic designers, editor-in-chief, and so on, to produce the newspaper!

**This competition is open to Australian schools and classes only.

Entries close midday AEST, Friday 26 August 2022




Students are invited to submit 60-second films linked to the theme of DREAMS.

Entrants may create a piece of fiction, a documentary, a community-service announcement or a music clip (be sure to adhere to copyright rules!). Submitted films can be animated or live-action – funny or serious.

Films may be in any language or have no dialogue at all. Non-English audio (and important on-screen text) must have English subtitles.
