With nine studio spaces up for grabs, successful artists will secure a free studio for three to four months as well as receiving professional portrait shots, a Council-supported opening, professional documentation, upskilling workshops and paid professional development opportunities including artist talks.
Part of Randwick City Council’s Creative Space Program. Barrett House Studios provides short-term space for creatives working across visual arts, performance, writing, design, music and more.
Nestled within the suburb of Randwick, Barrett House is a space heaving with creative history. Once home to silent filmmakers, Franklyn and Mabel Barrett, Barrett House has become a site of creativity for multidisciplinary artists. Barrett House Studios supports up to nine artists each year.
PROGRAM AIMS
Barrett House Studios supports artists seeking to develop a work or their creative practice.
Artists should have a focus on sustainability within their work, through the materials they use, themes they explore or theoretical underpinnings of their practice.
