M16 Artspace is excited to announce we are now accepting applications for our 2025 exhibition program.

With three gallery spaces, 31 artist studios, and a community arts hub, M16 Artspace is the perfect place to connect with other creatives and share your work with a wider audience. We pride ourselves on presenting high-quality exhibitions from both emerging and established artists and curators, both from Canberra and beyond.

We are looking for innovative proposals that push the boundaries of traditional art forms and explore new artistic territory. We welcome proposals from all cultural producers, including artists, collectives, collaborators, writers, and curators at all career levels. Proposals for exhibitions could include painting, sculpture, installation, sound, performance, film, and video works; supported by talks, reading groups, artist interviews, writing, classes, and panel discussions.

We strongly encourage applications from First Nations artists, d/Deaf and disabled artists, and artists of different genders, sexualities and cultural backgrounds.

Exhibiting Artists receive:

  • A four-week exhibition across one gallery space.
  • Marketing and communications support, including paid listings in various art subscriptions (print and digital), website, social media and email promotion.
  • Curatorial assistance and support from M16 Artspace staff
  • An opening night event with an open bar with beer, wine and chilled water, thanks to our amazing sponsors BentSpoke Brewing Co and Quarry Hill Wines.
  • Support from stuff to run public programming such as artist talks or workshops.
  • Liaising with artwork buyers and processing of artwork sales.
  • Gallery sitting by M16 Artspace staff from Wednesday – Friday.

Applications close Wednesday 14 August
