The Australia Council’s decision late last year to defund Young People and the Arts Australia (YPPA), the national peak body for organisations and practitioners engaging children and young people in the arts, startled many in the arts industry.

Richard Watts is ArtsHub's National Performing Arts Editor; he also presents the weekly program SmartArts on Three Triple R FM, and serves as the Chair of La Mama Theatre's volunteer Committee of Management.
