Sydney Symphony Orchestra (SSO) Chief Executive Officer Emma Dunch has left the company, having joined the SSO in 2017.
SSO Chairman Geoff Wilson said Dunch had successfully led the Orchestra through one of its most complex eras, including more than two years of venue disruption due to major renovations to the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall; significant impacts from the global COVID-19 pandemic; the recruitment of Simone Young AM as Chief Conductor and Sir Donald Runnicles OBE as Principal Guest Conductor; commissioning 50 new works by Australian composers, and significantly increasing individual philanthropy during her tenure.
