New music hub will grow and strengthen sector

Music Market is the latest aspect of the Victorian Government’s $22 million Music Works initiative to come to fruition.

A new centre for the Victorian music industry has opened at the contemporary arts precinct Collingwood Yards.

Located in the former Collingwood Technical College building constructed in 1943, Music Market extends across two levels and features a mix of event and performance spaces, business and co-working areas, and music business support services.

Its programs are designed to strengthen Victoria’s live music industry, which pre-COVID contributed an estimated $1.5 billion dollars annually to the Victorian economy.
