Industry demands top up of OzCo funding

Arts groups are urging the Minister for the Arts to increase funding, as the sector digests the latest funding blow.

Advocacy groups are urging the The Hon Paul Fletcher, Minister for Communications, Cyber Safety and the Arts, to commit to close a gap of at least $7 million in Australia Council funding to ensure that the small to medium sector can survive.

On Monday, 250 small to medium arts organisations were told that they could not continue to the second phase of applying for four-year funding. The outlook for the sector was described but almost everyone ArtsHub spoke to as ‘devastating’.
