After the people of Perth and WA saved Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe last year by generously rallying around the exhibition, organisers are again asking the visiting public to donate $5 on entry, or $10 for families, to help keep the exhibition afloat.
Â
On top of the significant decline in corporate sponsorship and government support that necessitated last year’s request, this year the Australia Council did not renew their annual support of $100,000 for the Cottesloe exhibition provided for the last five years.Â

With visitors donating just over $99,000 last year, organisers are hoping the public will again rally behind Sculpture by the Sea to donate $250,000 to replace the Australia Council funds. That contribution went towards artists and the financial bottom line last year, as well as the extra $50,000 required for COVID Marshalls, extra cleaning costs and other costs to comply with COVID-safe requirements. The event opens this weekend, running from 5-22 March 2021.
