The much-needed insurance scheme will support festivals, conferences, sports and community events; a $20M live music fund was also announced.

The Victorian Government has announced the introduction of an event interruption insurance scheme for creative festivals, business conferences and sporting and community events, to be delivered by the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA).

The 12-month, Government-subsidised scheme will insure up to $230 million of events against cancellation due to public health measures, or where events have reduced capacity due to restrictions.
