Arts Minister Simon Crean has announced new posts to Australia’s national cultural institutions.

These appointments come on top of Mr Crean’s announcement last Wednesday of $64.1 million funding over four years to protect jobs in the arts, with national collecting institutions receiving $39.3 million of the budget.

Minister Crean has appointed Professor Bruce Scates, a leading Australian historian, author and educator, to the National Archives of Australia Advisory Council, and professional company director Paul Binsted to the Australian Maritime Museum Council.
