Art prizes in Norfolk Plains bicentenary

The Art of Norfolk Plains exhibition to celebrate 200 years of white settlement in the region carries $3500 in prize money.

Entries close on January 25 for the Art of Norfolk Plains exhibition to run from February 15 to March 11 at Eskleigh in Perth in celebration of 200 years of white settlement to the region. The biggest money is the $2000 Northern Midlands Council Acquisitive Prize for the best painting, but there are also three lots of $300 for the Landscape Prize, the Heritage Prize and the People Prize and two sets of Highly Commendeds worth $150 each. The landscape category can be of either natural or agricultural scenes on the Norfolk Plains and the People Prize can be portraits of current residents or of early settlers, using the Longford Library as a research resource if required.
