Australia’s creative economy booming, research suggests

New research based on the 2016 Census indicates that Australia's creative industries sector is growing at a fast rate.

The traditional image of the barely-surviving creative is one that needs a big makeover, according to detailed analysis of the 2016 Census by Queensland University of Technology (QUT) researchers.

‘The creative economy is in better shape than it’s ever been in, with jobs in creative services growing at three times the rate of the overall workforce,’ said QUT Distinguished Professor Stuart Cunningham, who led the research.
