Musical theatre productions at six theatres in Melbourne’s East End contributed over two-thirds of a billion dollars to the Victorian economy in 2014-15, according to a new report commissioned by the East End Theatre District.

Over the same period the East End theatres – comprising the Princess, Her Majesty’s, the Regent, Comedy, Forum and Athenaeum theatres – generated a total economic impact of $226 million for the state and created 3000 jobs, according to the report compiled by Ernst & Young.
