The nominees for the Sydney Theatre Awards, consisting of 51 productions which played on Sydney stages during 2017 across 35 categories , have been announced.
Topping the list of nominations is the new musical Muriel’s Wedding, produced by the Sydney Theatre Company and Global Creatures. Muriel’s Wedding was nominated 12 times, for awards including Best Costume Design of a Mainstage Production; Best Original Score of a Mainstage Production; Best New Australian Work, and more.
