Tobias Horrocks of Fold Theory was one of six entrants awarded a 2014 Victoria Fellowship in the physical sciences category. Fellows are recognised for research and supported to continue their study overseas.

An architect by trade, Horrocks’s Fold Theory company blends architecture and furniture design, with the use of computer-aided technology to push the limits of cardboard. A lightweight material which is more regularly associated with packaging, cardboard is a material that can nevertheless be engineered to replace less sustainable materials currently used in construction and interiors.
