What value is placed on native animals?

A two-month residency in Western Australia’s Esperance for Tea Mäkipää will culminate with the opening of her art project Business Hotspot on 6 April.

Business Hotspot is a temporary public artwork resulting from Mäkipää’s time examining the interrelationships between humans and nature in the area. The work consists of Wi-Fi hotspots located within the beautiful and protected Cape Le Grand National Park. Functionally, the Wi-Fi will be accessible to visitors in the area. Artistically, the Wi-Fi is the starting point for discussion on the lack or complete absence of value placed on native animals by financial markets.
