Changing guards as director pulls out

Good news, bad news for Sydney Theatre Company: Director Lindsay Posner has withdrawn from the forthcoming STC production of Cyrano de Bergerac due to family emergency that would see him unable to leave his home base in the UK.

However, like most unfortunate change-ups, there is a silver-lining: STC chief artistic director Andrew Upton will now take the directorial helm of the production that he first adapted from Rostand’s 1897 original in 1999.
