Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia Elizabeth Ann Macgregor is bothered by the word advocacy, finding it too polite. She prefers the term lobbying, something she does in droves, across all aspects of her role. Macgregor believes that everyone who comes into contact with the art world has a role to play as a lobbyist, in creating dialogue around the importance of artists, what they do and why.
