The Holding Redlich People’s Choice Award winner has been announced. South Australian artist Robert Hannaford has taken out the top honour with his painting of Indigenous actor Trevor Jamieson selected from works in the 2011 Salon des Refusés exhibition.
The Salon des Refusés – Salon of the Rejected – is a popular exhibition that showcases some of the rejected works for the Archibald Prize. Initiated in 1992, it was born out of the public’s desire to view some of the cast-offs of the famous prize.
