Last week in Melbourne, the Queen officially opened the new Royal Children’s Hospital in Parkville, which sets a new benchmark for hospitals around the world.

After over five years of planning and building children will start moving into the new facility at the end of November. The new $1b hospital will provide 357 beds and have the capacity to treat an additional 35,000 patients a year, compared with the current building directly to its east on Flemington Road that has housed it since 1963.
