About Us

STRUT dance is Western Australia's choreographic development centre. We foster the development of a professional and independent dance community within Western Australia by connecting audiences with evocative choreography from around the world and dancers with provocative experiences from industry experts.

Supporting development of the creative concepts of WA's professional independent contemporary dancers and choreographers for the creation and presentation of new work, STRUT dance strives to enhance critical debate, whilst being informed by and informing national and international practice.

Founded in 2002, by Gabrielle Sullivan and Sue Peacock, STRUT dance has since grown into the main support organisation for the contemporary dance sector in Western Australia.

Our services include:

STRUT dance holds regular classes for professional dancers to sustain their skills and provides workshops to further explore choreographic concepts.

STRUT dance supports the development of new work by presenting curated programs as well as co-producing works by independent dance artists. In August 2012, we will be presenting a plethora of dance works as part of the MoveMe dance festival.
