At Geelong Performing Arts Centre we’re big enough to attract high calibre productions, but small enough to retain our friendly and accessible atmosphere. Our visitors can be in the audience one night, and on the stage the next - you don’t get that anywhere else. We’re incredibly proud to host some of the world’s best productions and just as proud to enable community creativity and performance. Our Audiences enjoy the world’s best theatre, music and performances and treat Geelong Performing Arts Centre as a second home.
We believe in the power of theatre to provide a new perspective, to challenge our thinking and to reveal two sides to every story – because creativity can transform minds and lives, and has positive flow-on effects on the health and wellbeing of our community.
We are located in the heart of Geelong and the G21 region, which was recently put on the map as creative and clever. We are deeply connected to our city and residents - after all, we were created with the help of the community over 35 years ago. We are proud of Geelong’s second city status, and couldn’t be more excited to watch it change and grow as we continue to evolve to meet its creative needs
Established in 1981, The Geelong Performing Arts centre Geelong Performing Arts Centre has become the major State provider of professional performing arts for the G21 region. As one of Victoria's nine arts agencies, its operations are guided by an Act of Parliament and the Geelong Performing Arts Centre Trust reports to government through the Minister for Creative Industries. Geelong Performing Arts Centre leadership is evidenced by its distinctive artistic footprint and the sheer number of activities and audiences it attracts. Art and community, growth in activity, innovation, outstanding spaces and people - a region renowned for its artistic energy and engagement. Geelong Performing Arts Centre was built on the enthusiasm and commitment of the Greater Geelong Community with a need for a high quality facility for the benefit of our artists and audiences.
