Centre for Projection Art is an independent, not for profit, registered charity, dedicated to supporting and nurturing new media artists, activating public spaces through collaborative projects, working with the community to create safe spaces and exhibiting Australia's most exemplary, contemporary projection art.
Since 2008, Centre for Projection Art has produced over 15 large-scale festivals, including our annual flagship event the Gertrude Street Projection Festival; instigated and participated in over 300 creative projects; worked closely with hundreds of emerging and well- established creative staff, and propelled the careers of hundreds of artists.
Our key event Gertrude Street Projection Festival exhibits a range from impressive large-scale installations on high-rise walls to intimate experiences of virtual reality through mobile phones. Gertrude Street Projection Festival is an inclusive, friendly community organisation and we seek to actively contribute to a vision of diversity and inclusion, engaging people from different cultural backgrounds, age groups, LGBTIQ and of varying abilities.
