About Ausdance Queensland:

Ausdance Queensland is the peak body that advocates and leads the Queensland dance sector.
Ausdance Queensland champions innovation, creativity and diversity in dance by supporting, promoting and
enabling dance practitioners, artists, educators, participants, and audiences to build the capacity of the dance
sector across Queensland.

Ausdance Queensland aims to:
• Provide advocacy and leadership for the sector
• Promote sector development and sustainability
• Improve dance accessibility and diversity
• Maintain strong organisational capacity and sustainability.

We are the state dance industry's primary advocate and advisory representative in regards to government
policy, sector planning and industry initiatives. Ausdance Queensland is supported by the Queensland
Government through Arts Queensland, part of the Department of Premier and Cabinet, with quadrennial
funding for 2016 – 2020. The organisation actively pursues industry and funding partnerships to enhance the
scope and impact of our outcomes.

Ausdance Queensland was established in 1992 as a state federation member of the Australian Association for
Dance Education (established in 1977 and renamed the Australian Dance Council in July 1992). Ausdance state
organisations deliver nation-wide integrated programs and provide innovative inclusive responses to the
Australian dance sector’s most pertinent issues.
