State Library of Queensland (SLQ) is a vibrant and innovative 21st century library. It's an inclusive and welcoming place for all, a trusted source for information, a place for intellectual freedom and creativity, and the primary custodian of Queensland's memory. SLQ provides a physical and virtual space for sharing, learning, collaborating and creating, contributing to the cultural, social and intellectual development of all Queenslanders.
The main SLQ building at Brisbane's South Bank, part of the Cultural Precinct, incorporates The Edge digital culture centre, John Oxley Library, kuril dhagun, The Corner (a creative play space for children under 8 and their parents and carers), the Australian Library of Art, the Asia Pacific Design Library, and the award-winning SLQ Shop. The South Bank site is complemented by an office in Cannon Hill (Brisbane) and a Cairns regional office.
SLQ supports a network of 320 public libraries and 20 Indigenous Knowledge Centres and provides statewide electronic access to a wide range of information resources, including a rapidly growing range of digitised unique Queensland material.
