Scenic World is in a park like setting on the outskirts of Katoomba, a mountain village about two hours by rail or road from Sydney. It has been owned and operated by the Hammon Family for three generations and has become one of the must see places in Australia's Blue Mountains, a World Heritage-listed area.
Scenic World sits on the edge of the escarpment overlooking the Jamison Valley and offers a range of experiences that can be found nowhere else in the world. These include the world's steepest railway, a spectacular cableway, a glass-floored skyway and a boardwalk through an ancient rainforest. It's a safe adventure for the entire family. Scenic World is open every day of the year - including Christmas Day - from 9.00am to 5.00pm.
Now in its sixth year, Sculpture at Scenic World is delighted to invite artists to an open call for submissions for Australia’s only rainforest exhibition.
Held between Friday 13 April – Sunday 13 May 2018, this outdoor exhibition will provide local, national and international artists an exciting opportunity to exhibit their works within the natural splendour of the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains. Up to 40 works will be exhibited on the valley floor, and a walk along the elevated boardwalk will give visitors the opportunity to view world class sculptures in an unparalleled setting.
• An estimated 55, 000 international and national visitors will view Sculpture at Scenic World.
• Artists will display their works and will vie for the $20 000 Scenic World Major Award, $5,000 Artists Peer Award, $2,000 Scenic World Staff Award and $1,000 Carrington Hotel's People’s Choice Award.
