About Us


At QTouring, our mission is to pioneer a transformative approach to touring the arts in Queensland, Australia. Supported by the State Government through Arts Queensland, QTouring will nurture and enable the delivery of evolved and sustainable touring of arts and cultural products and experiences to benefit audiences, artists and communities. Through collaborative consultation with the sector, we will develop a contemporary touring and community engagement strategy that invigorates the movement and creation of great arts across the state.


Position Description

Category: Part-time, 3 days per week. (0.6 FTE) Hybrid work arrangements available.

Salary: $80,000 pro-rata.

QTouring is dedicated to advancing the touring of First Nations Arts and delivering exceptional arts experiences to First Nations audiences and communities. The First Nations Producer/Community Liaison will be a vital part of our dynamic QTouring team, aiding in the fulfillment of this mission.



  • Forge Connections: Establish and nurture relationships between First Nations artists and presenters.
  • Liaison Role: Act as a point of contact for First Nations artists and organisations seeking to tour their work within Queensland.
  • Collaborative Engagement: Work with the QTouring team to create and execute culturally sensitive community engagement strategies.
  • Community Visits: Travel to First Nations communities to understand and align with their interests in engaging arts.
  • Marketing Support: Assist the Marketing and Communications Lead in crafting clear and effective promotion and engagement pathways for First Nations audiences and communities.
  • Effective Communication: Identify and leverage communication channels that connect QTouring with First Nations communities across Queensland, aiming to boost community capacity and confidence.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate strong ties with local organisations, including schools, community groups, local councils, and venues, to enrich the participation of First Nations people in QTouring activities.
  • Initiative Delivery: Implement QTouring initiatives tailored for First Nations artists and communities where appropriate.
  • Tour Brokerage: Facilitate the touring of selected First Nations works across Queensland


        Selection Criteria

  • Arts Knowledge: Understanding of the arts community with knowledge across various arts disciplines.
  • Event Experience: Proven experience in presenting events, specifically in developing and delivering First Nations events.
  • Collaborative Experience: Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with Indigenous artists, companies, and/or communities.
  • Budget Management: Competence in scoping and managing project budgets and resources.
  • Networking Skills: Ability to establish networks and maintain effective relationships with First Nations Elders, community, stakeholders, and industry professionals.
  • Community Engagement: Experience in working closely with artists and community groups during the development, planning, and presentation stages of projects.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
