Playwright Partnership Program

The Playwright Partnership Grant Program will assist Western Australian playwrights and theatre producers to commission and develop new scripts to tell West Australian stories.

The program offers grants up to $30,000.

Funding is available for projects that contribute to the commissioning and development of new Western Australian theatre scripts and will deliver on the following objectives:

  • share unique Western Australian stories that reflect the diversity of WA people and communities;
  • capitalise on opportunities for the development of new WA scripts for the stage by forming productive partnerships between playwrights and producers;
  • ensure a strong representation of playwrights from Aboriginal, regional, and cultural and gender diverse backgrounds; and
  • offer a significant development opportunity to a WA playwright.
