VicHealth invites local councils from around Victoria, and their creative industry partners, to apply for the Gender Equality through the Arts Grants. Successful councils will be those who collaborate with arts/creative industry partners to develop and deliver arts initiatives that promote gender equality across their communities. Additional public and/or private sector partnerships will be viewed favourably.
Gender Equality Arts project proposals should aim to:
- raise awareness, engage with and progress contemporary ideas about gender equality and celebrate and promote Victorian women and girls as independent leaders, and as equal, capable and valued members of the community.
- Provide opportunities to improve mental wellbeing using arts strategies that address the gendered drivers of violence against women and promote social connection
- Build the evidence base on what works in the arts to promote gender equality
Grants of up to $85,000 are available for projects that can be delivered within 12 months.
Applications open on Tuesday 11 December 2018, and will close on Friday 8 February 2019.
For more information on the grant, please visit the funding page.
In preparation for our upcoming "Gender Equality through the Arts" grants, VicHealth is running an information session for local councils and potential partners from the Arts, public and private sectors to hear more.
The session will provide attendees with the background to this grant program and an opportunity to ask questions to further clarify the aims of the creative initiatives we are seeking to fund.
