You can apply for funding to support the delivery of strategic arts projects in the Northern Territory (NT).
This funding is offered under the Arts Grants Program.
You should read the Arts Grants Program guidelines to find out if you are eligible and discuss your project with an arts broker.
Funding types
There are two categories of funding.
Category one
Grants of up to $25,000 that increase the capacity and profile of one of the following:
- artists with disabilities
- independent creative professionals.
Artists with disabilities
Applications must:
- demonstrate benefits for the development and sustainability of the arts and disability sector
- and contribute toward the goals of the National Arts and Disability Strategy.
This can include the following:
- increase participation and access, and or to develop and grow audiences for work
- raise the profile of NT artists with disabilities
- support innovative and sustainable creative industries for arts access
- support strategic partnerships that increase capacity building and employment for artists with disabilities.
Independent creative professionals
Applications must demonstrate the benefits to the development and sustainability of their practice and other non-NT government investment.
This can include the following:
- raise the profile of NT creative professionals and showcase NT’s diverse arts sector
- strengthen sustainability for independent arts practice
- develop innovative and sustainable creative industries and enterprises.
The development of artistic work for presentation will not be supported through this category.
Category two
You can apply for a grant of up to $100,000 to support strategic arts industry development such as:
- creating employment
- generating revenue
- attracting private and philanthropic investment
- and increasing access and audience development.
The development of new artistic work for presentation will not be supported through this category.
Applications must support the following outcomes:
- explore new markets and innovation in arts industry business models that increase capacity, revenue and non-government investment
- industry capacity building, skills development and income generation through activities and corporate/ philanthropic partnerships
- increased employment, including Aboriginal and disability employment outcomes
Who can apply
Individuals, groups and not for profit organisations can apply across both categories.
Funding is for activities that start on or after 1 July 2020.
When to apply
Applications open on 3 February 2020 and close on 14 March 2020.
You will be notified of the outcome in May 2020.
