Screenrights Cultural Fund
The Screenrights Cultural Fund makes a difference by supporting people with exciting and innovative new initiatives that foster the creation and appreciation of screen content in Australia and New Zealand.
The 2024 Screenrights Cultural Fund total grant pool has been increased to $300,000 and the annual focus is BIG ISSUES: CREATIVE SOLUTIONS. Organisations and individuals can apply for up to $50,000 per project for initiatives that provide broad benefit to the screen industries of Australia and New Zealand. The Cultural Fund is not a production or development fund, but rather supports projects that up-skill, increase diversity, innovate to reach new audiences, and more. Examples of previously funded projects can be found here.
Screenrights will continue its application support for those less experienced in funding submissions through free expert advice, with the aim of reducing barriers to entry and increasing the diversity of funded initiatives. Through the support process, applicants can draw on external assistance provided by Screenrights to help shape their submissions and optimise their chances of receiving funding.
The Fund awards up to $50,000 per initiative with a total funding pool of $300,000 available this year, increased from $250K in previous years. 2024 applications are open from Friday 2 February 9am AEDT and will close on Wednesday 10 April, at 5pm AEST. The guidelines, application form and application support form are now available here.
