Meghan Bourke, Executive Director & CEO of Next Wave will part ways with the festival only days before its program launch on 15 March.

In a statement provided to ArtsHub, the Next Wave Board confirmed that Meghan Bourke has resigned as Executive Director effective 10 March 2016.

Artistic Director and CEO Georgie Meagher will now lead Next Wave into the 2016 Festival, supported by a team which includes a number of longstanding key staff members,

Richard Watts is ArtsHub's National Performing Arts Editor; he also presents the weekly program SmartArts on Three Triple R FM, and serves as the Chair of La Mama Theatre's volunteer Committee of Management. Richard is a life member of the Melbourne Queer Film Festival, and was awarded the status of Melbourne Fringe Living Legend in 2017. In 2020 he was awarded the Sidney Myer Performing Arts Awards' Facilitator's Prize.
