For the thousands of artists who make the annual pilgrimage to Edinburgh in August, the Fringe is an opportunity to showcase their work, network, and get caught up in the creative buzz of the largest arts festival on the planet.

For the local arts community, it’s a chance to raise enough money to survive when the festival’s out of town.
