In this two-day, hands-on experience, you will learn how to turn pottery shards from broken china into unique works of art in the form of beautiful creative mosaic garden pots.
No experience is necessary as your guide, Amanda Doctor, will support you every step of the way and ensure you leave this workshop with the skills required to create mosaics in your own time. This is a very creative, free form direct application method. All you need is some protective eyewear (Bunnings $4) , old leather gloves (Work gloves $10) and preferably an old towel that you don’t mind getting holes in.
Throughout the workshop, you will select from an array of china shards, explore and produce a rough design idea, be taught how to use the equipment to shape the tesserae and then apply it. If there is time, Amanda will demonstrate how to grout so you are able to grout your piece when it is dry.
All materials will be provided. If you’d like to incorporate in your own sentimental pieces of china, shells, pebbles, pearls or knick-knacks into your own design, please bring them along with you.
