Without the sun, the planet will not survive. It provides life, energy, and growth. Earth is centred around the sun, and as a human race, it is essential to our existence. SOLAR, the film, seeks to explore the relationship between the natural and the man-made world we live in. Nature is honest; it has no ego, no agenda. What happens when we interfere with natural landscapes physically, and the effect it has on us emotionally? Set to the music of composer Cam Butler’s 2022 album of the same name, SOLAR is a result of the collaboration between videographer Haley Rose and Cam Butler. The film dives into a world of contemplation about our impact on the environment, and each other.
“The film is a perfect visual for the album, its finger firmly planted on the pulse of the music.” Backseat Mafia

Following a sold-out screening at Westgarth Cinema in April last year, SOLAR will show at ACMI for one night only on Saturday March 16th. Cam Butler (Ron S. Peno & The Superstitions) will open the event with a special solo guitar set.

Cinema 2 – Cam Butler on at 4:30pm sharp, no interval. All ages, all welcome.
