For over 20 years, Spaced has been producing and commissioning context-responsive and socially engaged art projects across the whole of Western Australia and beyond.

In 2022, Spaced presents two programs of site-responsive works – Rural Utopias and Know Thy Neighbour #3.

Rural Utopias is a program of residencies and exhibitions in rural and remote Western Australia. Artists Georgie Mattingley, Nathan Gray, Jacky Cheng, Tina Stefanou, Tim Burns, Jo Darbyshire, Bennett Miller, Ana Tiquia, Sarah Rodigari, Alana Hunt, Elizabeth Pedler and Mike Bianco are developing new works alongside their host communities, responding to new social, environmental, and historical contexts.

Know Thy Neighbour #3 is a series of Perth-based art projects. For this program, West Australian artists Olga Cironis, Amy Perejuan-Capone, Neil Aldum, Elham Eshraghian-Haakansson, Claire Bushby and Yabini Kickett, will create works that consider how we can meaningfully engage in the making of our cities.
