NT Writers Festival returns to lush Larrakia land for four days of talks and immersive events at the Museum and Art Gallery of the NT and other special venues in Darwin.
This year, a brilliant line-up of writers and storytellers explore the theme of balarr | catching the light. In Larrakia, balarr means ‘to light up’ or ‘to become light’. In the Top End, in Saltwater Country, we are surrounded by spectacular displays of light – radiant sunsets, glistening waterfalls, dramatic lightning storms. To catch the light is both a pursuit and a fleeting moment that might only briefly illuminate the darkness. In times of crisis, how can we find, and hold onto, glimmers of hope? And what sparks might inspire a brighter future? Join a diverse range of writers and storytellers from across the country as they explore this theme and celebrate language, culture and story shaped by place.
Early bird passes on sale now. Travel subsidies are available.
