New Annual is Newcastle’s flagship festival of arts, culture and creativity. From 27 September – 4 October the city will be immersed in award-winning dance, diverse live music, boundary pushing performance, moving First Nations music and workshops, interactive art installations, and unique theatre by a range of local and nationally renowned artists.
Perfectly timed during the spring school holiday period, the festival features free, ticketed and family-friendly events. Kick off the festival with the free First Night Street Party on Fri 27 Sept, featuring proud Gamilaraay man and triple threat Mitch Tambo, along with mesmerising performances of Tower Divas, local bands, DJs, roving performers and more.
The festival will wrap up with a free multicultural community event, Global Gathering on Sat 5 Oct. Join the celebration at this free event and experience the colour, sound, and taste of diversity with live world music from The Ghana Road Show and Worlds Collide, dance and food demonstrations, cultural workshops and more!
