Making it in Moreland: ‘Eat your Feelings’ painting with Aida Azin

What does your gut feeling look like? Can you illustrate your instincts?

In a session of art play, using acrylics and canvas, artist facilitator Aida Azin invites participants to explore their gut health while collectively painting together.

This workshop is perfect for anyone looking to explore painting approaches through skill sharing and knowledge exchange. It is an also an opportunity for participants to notice how the body stores emotion, how we eat and process food, and how we draw closer to meaningful memories, identity, and culture.

No experience needed. All materials provided.

Artist Bio

Aida Azin is an artist/community organiser based in Naarm/Melbourne. Born to Iranian/Filipina parents and raised in an Australian context, Aida’s life experiences are melded with depictions of liminality and an attempt to reconcile losses that all diasporic bodies contend with. Aida has exhibited her paintings and installations across Australia and in the Philippines.

Aida Azin’s painting techniques use bold colours, text and energetic figures. She uses her painting practice as a platform to promote the importance of self-representation on cultural perspectives within the visual arts. The themes represented in Aida’s art practice reflect her experience as a Filipino-Iranian first-generation born Australian. Aida has exhibited her paintings and installations across Australia and in the Philippines.
